Yes — stair moves are common and we are fully equipped for them. Upright pianos are moved on specialist stair skis. Grand pianos may require a furniture hoist for multi-storey moves or awkward access. All stair routes are assessed during the pre-move survey.
Grand pianos are fully disassembled — legs, lyre, and lid removed and individually wrapped. The body is placed on a purpose-built skid board on its side. Each component is wrapped in transit blankets and padded against movement in the vehicle. The piano is reassembled and positioned at the destination.
Yes. Our £5M transit insurance covers specialist items including declared-value antiques and artwork. For items of significant value, we recommend providing a professional valuation certificate before the move, which allows us to ensure the declared value is accurately covered.
We recommend at least 2 weeks for piano moves, as specialist crew and equipment need to be allocated. We can occasionally accommodate shorter notice — call to check availability. Grand piano moves in complex access situations may require a longer lead time for equipment sourcing.
